The Justice for Filipino American Veterans (JFAV, an alliance of Filipino World War II Veterans, youth, students and community organizations based in the United States are in solidarity with Filipinos their Citizen’s Assembly on Sunday, August 14, 2016 in Rizal Park, Manila, Philippines.

JFAV stands with you to protest and oppose Dictator’s Ferdinand Marcos Sr. the projected burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani on September 18, 2016

JFAV National Coordinator, Arturo P. Garcia said, ” we expressed JFAV’s deepest outrage on the order of the Philippine President Rodrigo R. Duterte to bury deposed President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. in the Libingan ng mga Bayani on September 18, 2016 with heroes burial with military honors as payment to his political debts.

JFAV Condemns Duterte’s Historical Revisionism

Former U.S. President Harry S. Truman signed The Rescission Act of 1946, which exclusively disenfranchised Filipino veterans and their families access to their rightful benefits. This racist law has endured for 69 years, but we demand NO MORE! Justice and equity for our lolos and lolas now!

JFAV stands with all the victims of Marcoses martial law and vehemently opposed the historical revisionist act of the President Duterte that absolved Marcos of all his transgressions against the Filipino people that elevate him as a hero. “

Garcia added, “Duterte insults the 250,000 Filipino American Veterans who fought for democracy during World War II and the 73,000 victims of human rights violations and all the victims and relatives who fought martial law including his beloved mother.

For JFAV, Marcos lover President Duterte is committing a grave act of historical revisionism by claiming that “ Marcos was a soldier and as a former President and an awardee of Medal of Valor by the Philippine Republic, deserves to be buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani as provided by law.

This despite the fact that Marcos was a fake hero as claimed by US authorities and the fact he was awarded the Medal of Valor in 1958 which is 16 years after the war, “ JFAV exclaimed.

Deeply Ashamed of Duterte’s Denial

Garcia added. “ JFAV with all the remaining Filipino World War II Veterans and their relatives are deeply ashamed by the act and words of President Duterte that bluntly disregarded and denied the findings of the US Veterans Administration’s findings that Marcos was a fake hero and manufactured his medals.

We found it too shameful that President Digong Duterte’s bull-headed intransigence has denied Marcos spurious war medals hereby insinuating that the “Philippines is not a vassal state of the America anymore.” even denying the findings of the National Historical Commission (NHCP) and calling all oppositions to the Marcos burial as “ yellow opposition.”

All genuine and true Filipino World War II veterans in the Philippines and the United States who are in JFAV and other veterans organizations cannot accept and will never accept that Marcos as a fake hero. Even it is honor on  the order of an avowed Marcos loyalist  Digong Duterte.

Never in a million years!

JFAV IS IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE CITIZENS ASSEMBLY AND TO ALL THAT VEHEMENTLY OPPOSE AND ARE AGAINST THE BURIAL OF DICTATOR FEDINAND MARCOS AT THE LIBINGAN NG MGA BAYANI ON SEPTEMBER 18, 2016.

HEROES CEMETERY OR THE “ LIBINGAN NG MGA BAYANI”

HEROES CEMETERY OR THE “ LIBINGAN NG MGA BAYANI”

By Arturo P. Garcia

“I do not know the dignity of his birth, but I do know the glory of his death.”NHC

It is important to know the history of the Libingan ng mga Bayani or Heroes’ Cemetery, also officially known as Libingan ng mga Bayani in Tagalog. It is the  Philippine national cemetery within Fort Bonifacio(formerly the American Fort William McKinley) in Western Bicutan, Taguig CityMetro ManilaPhilippines.

It was established as a fitting resting place for Filipino military personnel from privates to generals, as well as Filipino heroes and martyrs. It was first established on May 1947 as the Republic Memorial Cemetery. It was then renamed to its current name on 27 October 1954 by President Ramon Magsaysay.[2]

It is now a subject of controversy due to the fact that the bull-headed President Diong Duterte has ordered the Department of National Defense (DND) to prepare the burial of dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. at the site on September 18, 2016 despite protests from a lot of quarters.

Among those buried in the cemetery are most of the defenders of May 1942 (during World War II), and those who fought in various battlefields of the Allied Liberation of the Philippines from 1942 to 1945.

It also contains the national Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The tomb of the unknown soldier was located for a long while in Fort Santiago, Manila until it was transferred to the LNB.

It is established as the Filipino counterpart to the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, which houses the remains of United Statespersonnel who died during the same war.  Maybe the Filipino leaders were inspired by American War Memorials like the Arlington Cemetery that they wanted to replicate it in the Philippines

According to Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Regulation The Allocation of Cemetery Plots at the LNMB issued on 9 April 1986 by former AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Fidel V. Ramos and President Corazon C. Aquino, along with members of the military, the following persons are entitled to be interred at Heroes’ Cemetery:

Medal of Valor awardees,Presidents or Commanders-in-Chief, AFP, The secretaries of National Defense, AFP Chiefs of Staff, General/Flag Officers, active and retired military personnel, and former AFP members who laterally entered/joined the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)Veterans of the Philippine Revolution of 1896, the First and Second World Wars, as well as recognized guerrillas, Government dignitaries, statesmen, national artists and other deceased persons whose interment has been approved by the commander-in-chief, Congress or the Secretary of National Defense, and Former Presidents, Secretaries of National Defense, widows of former Presidents, Secretaries of National Defense and Chiefs of Staffs.

But not all the Presidents are interned at the LNB. Genera Emilio Aguinaldo was buried in KAwit, Cavite. President Manuel Roxas. Sergio Osmena Sr.  and Ramon Magsaysay are buried in the North Cemetery in Manila. President Manuel Quezon is buried in the Quezon Memorial Circle and President Aquino is interned with his husband, Senator Ninoy Aquino in Manila Memorial Park.

PFM

Only Philippine presidents Elpidio QuirinoCarlos P. Garcia and Diosdado Macapagal are buried in the LNB. Vice-president Salvador H. Laurelnational heroes of the Philippines; generals Artemio Ricarte and Carlos P. RomuloArmed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff Angelo Reyes; and senators Arturo Tolentino and Blas Ople are also buried in the cemetery.

This maybe the reason why Duterte is emboldened to bury the dictator remains in the LNB as his payment for political favors from the Marcoses  who supported him during presidential campaign of May 2016.

Prof. Jose Ma. Sison explained, “there is no big reason why the peace process can be affected by the burial of Marcos. Besides it’s the national heroes cemetery for the bourgoise.”

But even with that, people refused to honor the memory of the man who caused the misery of more than 73,000 human rights victims for 14 years and irrepairable harm to the country and people. He is now being honored by Marcos lover and revisionist Digong Duterte.

On the cemetery’s entrance it is written: “I do not know the dignity of his birth, but I do know the glory of his death.” I think it’s time to change it with:

“The good things that the men do, will be interned with his bones. The evil lives with it.”

AN ERROR-RIDDEN LIST

AN ERROR-RIDDEN LIST

(Re reprinted the editorial from Phil.Daily Inquirer, August 11, 2016-Editor)

13770342_10153859917897734_7440132913465371467_n

The President’s “narco-list” came down in the wee hours of the morning last Sunday; like the proverbial thief in the night, it caught many by surprise. And like a piece of work rushed overnight, it was also ridden with errors.
The magnitude of President Duterte’s release of the list, naming over 150 local government officials, judges and soldiers as involved in drug cartels, cannot be overstated. Depending on which side they are on, lawyers have started to debate whether the list amounts to a systematic violation of the constitutional presumption of innocence or is merely an expression made from the President’s bully pulpit.
But the fact that the list contained serious errors made the release even more consequential; it did not only link individuals to the illegal drugs trade, it linked the wrong individuals.

One judge was already long dead; another had already been dismissed. One person classified as a member of Congress wasn’t a lawmaker. Four other judges did not have any jurisdiction over drugs cases. One military general had already died; three other officers had long been discharged. And so on.

The national police chief, Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, acknowledged the mistakes, but then offered a counter-argument.

“Why are we so concerned about the mistakes? We should be concerned [about] the good effects of this massive campaign. If we allow ourselves to be controlled by the fear of making mistakes, by a small percentage, this campaign will go nowhere,” he said.

This is an interesting insight from a man the media offices of both the national government and the police are busy creating a larger-than-life personality for. He is essentially saying that the end justifies the means; after all, why let the mistakes get in the way of “this massive campaign”? But what is the purpose of the celebrity blitz that Dela Rosa is on, the creation of a new police mascot looking like him, the popularization of games featuring the new chief as a character, if not to humanize one of the largest organizations in the entire country? Interesting, then, that his comment fails to recognize the human toll of these mistakes.

Is there such a thing as a small mistake, when an individual’s reputation, even his life, is at stake? We expect more from the police general who wears his emotions on his uniform’s sleeve, who is truly ready to listen to the grievances of his men. If he can offer his official residence as temporary housing for a man reputed to be a major drug lord, out of the kindness of his heart, why can’t he show concern for those individuals wrongly included in the list?

He makes a false connection, between showing concern about not making mistakes and allowing ourselves “to be controlled by the fear of making mistakes.” These two are not the same; no member of a government unit, no bureaucrat, should be controlled by this fear; on the other hand, every government employee or agent should acknowledge that mistakes can be made—and that mistakes can be corrected.

Dela Rosa justified the error-ridden list as necessary in the all-out war on illegal drugs. “To tell you frankly, we won’t be able to pin them down, because drug lords are very hard to pin down unless you have a comprehensive case buildup.” But that is precisely the point. The people who prepared the list and gave it to the President himself to release were not working very hard; the complete staff work that characterized the Ramos administration, which President Duterte admires, was missing in the preparation of the list.

We realize that some people—whether admirers of the President’s strategic approach or critics of the President’s policy and language—have suggested that the errors in the list were deliberate, and the list was shaped precisely to provoke those involved in the illegal drugs trade to turn on each other. That is possible, but at what cost? An error-ridden list undermines its own standing in public opinion, and creates even more doubts about the means by which the war on drugs is being waged.

70 YEARS OF THE UNJUST RESCISSION ACT OF 1946

JFAV National Coordinator Arturo P. Garcia Said, ‘we find it shameless to call Trump for the Philippines and Filipinos as “Trojan Horse” and a “nation of terrorist” when the Philippines Sacrificed more than one million lives and untold destruction Suffered from the hands of the Japanese invaders During World War II.
Trump, Shameless
It is the height of bigotry for Trump to pay lip service to American Veterans When he insult the sacrifice of Filipino Veterans Who Fought During World War II for the American Flag and for democracy in the Pacific War Theater.
Former U.S. President Harry S. Truman signed The Rescission Act of 1946, which exclusively disenfranchised Filipino veterans and their families access to their rightful benefits. This racist law has endured for 69 years, but we demand NO MORE! Justice and equity for our lolos and lolas now!

For Trump, Whose ignorance is bliss, Did not Know que la Philippines Was an American bastion During World War Two and Bataan and Corregidor Defended for five months in order for the United States to recover lost territories ict later. “

Garcia further Top Said, “it shameless for Trump to ignore the contributions of the Filipinos to the American society and blame Muslim Filipinos-even for the crimes of ISIS and” ban the Filipinos if he wins. “.
Dump Trump
Garcia added, “It really shows how narrow-minded Trump is insulting in the Philippines and the Filipino-American community in the United States.
No wonder Republicans Filipino-even detested _him_ and will not vote for _him_ in this coming November elections. THUS, we in JFAV calls were all still living Filipino World War II veterans and Their relative and friends not to vote for Trump. “.

DIGONG DUTERTE, A MARCOS LOVER, WARNS OF MARTIAL LAW

BANTAY PILIPINAS –USA

August 09, 2016

DIGONG DUTERTE, A MARCOS LOVER, WARNS OF MARTIAL LAW

Los Angeles” He who ride the tiger, ends up in it.” Mysterious-image-appeared-onPH-flag-during-Dutertes-inaugural-speech

As expected, an avowed Marcos lover, former Davao City Mayor, President Digong Duterte, an ultimate bully, ordered the DND to prepare for the burial of dictator Marcos in the “Libingan ng mga Bayani”, in Fort Bonifacio.

For Bantay-Pilipinas-USA ( PHILWATCH) , based in the United States. Digong Duterte, by ordering the burial of dictator Marcos with military honors, disregarded the people’s clamor not to honor the despised dictator. Instead, Duterte fulfilled his political promise as a payback to the Marcoses who supported his presidential campaign.

He spit on the EDSA Revolution of February 1986 and disregarded the people’s condemnation of the 14 year of Marcos rule, the same way he now threatened the Supreme Court with a declaration of martial law . Digong and his cabal of psychopaths will steam roll to impose his own Duterte Constitution, a spectre of a dictator.

Federalism or “Balkanization” of the Republic.

They are all in a hurry to change the 1987 Freedom Constitution in the guise of introducing his own brand of federalism. Duterte even turned his back on his promise to have a ConCon and instead opted for an ConAss. A proff of his being a shrewd politician’s double speak.

Actually Duterte and the PDP-Laban’s federalism is a step towards the “Balkanization” of the Philippines and the consolidation of political dynasty in the regions or what they called “federal states.”

BANTAY PILIPINAS agree with former COMELEC Commissioner Christian Monsod,” the problem is not with the constitution but in its implementation. The 1987 Freedom Constitution has all its social justice and social reforms components. The problem is how to implement it.” Therefore any Consitutional Change is improper. And not needed.

Digong, another Marcos?

By now, the Filipino people must know Digong Duterte who double speak, swear at people and posture as a “socialist” and pro-people but in fact a budding dictator who now honor his idol-Ferdinand Marcos Sr. who declared martial law and imposed his evil rule for 14 years.

He also threatened the National Democratic Front (NDF) by imposing his own demands and is now preparing for an all-out war against the progressive forces after cajoling and ingratiating himself with the revolutionary forces by playing as a progressive and a ‘socialist candidate. Now he is showing off his wild fangs as a fascist like his idol dictator Marcos.

We can only say, He who rides the tiger, ends up in it.” He who acts like Dictator Marcos will suffer the same fate.

ALLIANCE NEWS

Agosto 08, 2016

NASA PANGANIB ANG USAPANG PANGKAYAPAAN DAHIL SA PAGIGING DOBLE KARA AT BUTANGERO NI DIGONG DUTERTE.

joma-duterte-0510-1
