GPPM NA/USA WITH SENATOR GRACE POE CONDEMNS BLOODY DISPERSAL IN KIDAPAWAN

Los Angeles– “Food, Not Bullets. Livelihood, Not Violence!”

The Grace Poe For President Movement (GPPM) in North America and USA stand with Senator Grace Poe in vehemently condemning the senseless dispersal and bloody shooting of Mindanao farmers in Kidapawan, Cotabato in Mindanao, (April 1. 2016 in the Philippines).

Jun Caringal, GPPM leader said, ” We stand with Senator Grace Poe condemn such police violence against the hungry and unarmed farmers in Mindanao.”

The Alliance-Philippines and Bantay-Pilipinas USA also strongly denounces the violent dispersal of the rally of farmers in Kidapawan City, North Cotabato this morning.

According news reports, as of this writing, three were killed, 116 persons were wounded, and around 100 were arrested in the said dispersal. ”

Aquino III Responsible

GPPM NA/USA allied organizations , Aliance Philippines and Bantay Pilipinas-USA in the United States also ” holds Pres. Benigno Aquino III, Department of Agriculture Sec. Proceso Alcala, Liberal Party member and North Cotabato Governor Emmylou “Lala” Taliño-Mendoza, and PNP Col. Alex Tagum accountable for the said assault on the farmers.

The farmers were barricading the Kidapawa highway as a’ legitimate protest action for the release of 15,000 sacks of rice as subsidy for those affected El Niño phenomenon. ”

Caringal added, ” There is no justifiable reason for the use of violence against the farmers who are conducting the protest.

Since March 30, more than 6,000 farmers from Makilala, Mlang, Tulunan, Magpet, Roxas, Antipas, Arakan towns and Kidapawan City have been conducting the protest action near the National Food Authority (NFA) warehouse in Kidapawan City. ”

Rice, Not Bullets, Feed the hungry farmers not kill them!
