JFAV CONDEMNS THE SOUTH KOREA-JAPAN ACCORDS ON COMFORT WOMEN AS AN ACCORD OF INJUSTICE

JFAV CONDEMNS THE SOUTH KOREA-JAPAN ACCORDS ON COMFORT WOMEN AS AN ACCORD OF INJUSTICE

jfav lobby at US Congress

Comfort Women Monument Glendale

Los Angeles—“We should never forget”

The Justice For Filipino American Veterans (JFAV) called the South Korean and Japanese Accords of Comfort Women as a travesty of justice and favors Japanese Militarists and an insult to all comfort women who were oppressed during World War II.

JFAV National Coordinator Arturo P. Garcia said, “The Accords not only perpetuate injustice to all comfort women but also absolved the Japanese fascists of accountability during World War II.”

Why the ROK-Japan Agreement on Comfort Women is Unjust

JFAV’s Arturo Garcia enumerated the reasons why the so-called agreement between the South Korean government and Japan is onerous and unjust:

1)In exchange, the South Korean government agreed to remove a statue commemorating Korean comfort women erected in Seoul outside the Japanese embassy,
2)and to promise to never criticize the Japanese government again on the comfort women issue.
3) many of the comfort women interviewed about the deal were also outraged. Neither the surviving Korean comfort women nor their advocates were involved in the formulation of this agreement.
4)The $8.3 million dollar fund only seems like a large sum of money given the small number of comfort women who have survived so long, particularly given that the trauma they experienced resulted in a lifetime of poor health for most comfort women, the fund amounts to less than $1000 per comfort woman victimized by the Japanese military.
5) The Japanese government is not required by this agreement to accept legal responsibility for the comfort women, which would have required a more extensive legal reparations settlement.
6) What Japan gets out of this agreement is the guarantee that South Korea can never again hold the Japanese government accountable for these war crimes. Indeed,

JFAV strongly condemned the US-Puppet Government of South Korea that has agreed to remove a memorial that would educate the public on comfort women, and they can never raise the issue with them again; and so, Japan has effectively erased that history.

Like the Philippine government that has not lifted a hand to protest Japanese militarism, the Aquino II regime is a rabid Japanese collaborator much like his parents and grandparents who were Pro-Japanese collaborator ever since.

“GPPM –USA HAILS SUPREME COURT’S TRO VS COMELEC ON GRACE POE’S DQ

TULOY POE ANG LABAN!

Los Angeles– “ The courts is the guarantee of our independence”

The Grace Poe For President Movement (GPPM) United States hailed the decision of the PH Supreme Court for acting swiftly and judiciously for issuing two temporary restraining order (TRO) against the COMELEC and protecting the rights of Senator Grace Poe as a candidate.

GPPM lead convenor Jun Caringal said, “ The Supreme Court affirmed today that Senator Grace Poe is still a candidate for President and put a stop to Filipino American bashing and COMELEC dirty political maneuvers to disqualify Poe by the process of elimination by disqualification before the elections.

No to FilAm Bahing and Muckracking

The Supreme Court issuance of a lengthy TRO proves that the COMELEC has jaundiced eyes and committed grave abuse of discretion in favor of their candidate and cannot hear or see reason at all.”

Dr, Orly Cagampan said, “ the GPPM –USA will redouble its effort in America to ward of the black propaganda and will raise the level of campaign into a concrete discussion on Poe’s program of action and not personalities and legal mumbo jumbos.

We are happy that the PH Supreme Court has taken steps to correct the dirty politics and raised the ante against the use of COMELEC and Filipino-American bashing in the Philippines that sink the national elections in the quagmire of muckraking and political assassination.”

GPPM-USA EXPOSES  THE CONCEPT OF OPERATIONS  OF OPLAN PaPOEtok

TULOY POE ANG LABAN!

Los Angeles—” To be forewarned is to be forearmed.”

The Grace Poe  for President Movement (GPPM)-USA  held a press conference today, December 21, 2015  at Bahay Kubo Restaurant in Historic Filipinotown, DTLA and exposed the electoral strategy of black propaganda and misinformation being peddled and conducted by the political enemies of Grace Poe.

Jun Caringal and Macky Fortu of the GPPM –USA supported  by Atty Roman Mosqueda exposed the   “ OPLAN CBS PaPOEtok, as  the art and strategy of coordinated and systematic attacks to create a general perception that she is not worth electing as President

Caringal said, ” We must protest the plan that aimed to paint the Filipino-Americans as traitors and not Filipinos in an apparent campaign of malicious FilAm bashing and disenfranchise FilAm voters i the United States.”

They also explained  the Implementation Plans or IMPLANS that they will unleashed within the next seven weeks leading to the elections of May 2016:

OPLAN PaPOETok’s Implans

The OPLAN PaPOEtok’s Implementation Plans or IMPLANS are:

1) IMPLAN TROY- This is now in current operations. The entry of Mayor Rodrigo Duterte into the elections and the admission of the COMELEC of his COC2)  PLAN GIBA- these are the successive filing of disqualifications cases in the COMELEC by some individuals. And the decisions of the COMELEC to the disqualification Grace Poe has bore fruits.

3) IMPLAN THOR—these are misinformation about the scholastic records of Senator Poe while she was a student of Boston, MA 4) IMPLAN QUESO—these are gossips about the alleged hidden romantic relationships between Senator Poe and Senator Chiz Escudero.

5) IMPLAN DINA—This is again another expose spreading a copy of the DNA of Senator Poe linking her to former President Marcos. The old fishwives tale of she is the “daughter of President Marcos” with an actress.

Forewarned is Forearmed

6) IMPLAN HUBBY- this expose is about the husband of Senator Poe , Mr. Neil Lamanzares. Our informant said, the “dirty tricks department of her political enemies are still gathering more information about this So here they are, the whole concept of OPLAN PAPOETOK.

When asked where they did they get this information Caringal said, “It’s classified and reliable from our sources in the Philippines. What is important is we are aware and are forewarned of  this disinformation campaign against Poe.

Macky Fortu on the other hand said, “ We call on all Filipino-Americans to analyze the facts and be intelligent on their decision this coming Presidential elections for it  is crucial for the destiny of our nation and the Filipino American community.”

TULOY POE ANG LABAN!

JFAV: VICTORY IN THE MISS UNIVERSE IS SHALLOW, COLONIZATION AND NEO- COLONIAL RELATIONS IS NEVER “ CLOSE RELATIONSHIP”

Justice For Filipino American Veterans (JFAV)

JFAV: VICTORY IN THE MISS UNIVERSE IS SHALLOW, COLONIZATION AND NEO- COLONIAL RELATIONS IS NEVER “ CLOSE RELATIONSHIP”

Miss Philippine said this,

Los Angeles “ Imperialist Colonization and Neo-Colonial relations is never a close relationship.”

Arturo P. Garcia, JFAV National Coordinator said, ” We respectfully disagrees to the statement of winner of Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach for saying that “ the Philippines and the US have always had a good relationship”

Injustice and racial discrimination in America still prevails. It is due to the fact that until today, 250,000 Filipino-American soldiers who served this country in WWII had their benefits exclusively rescinded by the U.S and remained unrecognized and denied of their rights and benefits as American soldiers”.

Garcia said, “JFAV is one with the statement of KMBPro people Youth that says,  The fact is that The United States and the Philippines does not have a good relationship. Colonization is the exploitation and oppression of a people. Historically, the U.S. has subjugated the people of the Philippines through plunder, rape, and genocide.

VFA – An Instrument of Neo-Colonial Relations

After the United States snatched our independence from the Spanish rule in 1899, over 1 million Filipinos were killed in the ensuing 16 years Philippine-American War,”

JFAV also stated, “ The U.S. military stationed in the Philippines is routinely protected by the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) concocted by the Philippine President and the US authorities in 1998 which is a trangession of Philippine Sovereignty and Independence.

Thus, when crimes are committed against the Filipino people, such as the case of the U.S. marine who murdered Jennifer Laude. Considering this relationship, colonization has always been a problem.

Shallow Victory

Our winning the Miss universe  is very shallow for or people are still fighting for true independence, freedom, and justice.

We are still fighting for our Filipino World War II Veterans here in the United States. We understand Ms.Wurrtzbach for her mind “she got to win” but at the expense of the great patriotic heart and brave heart of all patriotic Filipinos. And we will not stand for that.

We ask her to keep an open mind and fight for justice and equity of our Filipino World War II veterans, and all our still living and departed heroes of World War II.

LosAngeles- Southern California FilAm leaders expressed their deepest sympathy to the victims of the San Bernardino Massacre.

During the KAPIHAN at HFT in KAPISTAHAN Grill last Saturday, December 05, 2105., Filipino-American leaders were unanimous in calling the San Bernardino Massacre last December 2, 2015  where 14 people were shot and killed by two terrorist as an act of terrorism.

Dr. Orlando Cagampan said, “President Obama has been so complacent that even after the Paris Incident they did not take extra security precautions that resulted to the San Bernardino Massacre.”

Obama’s Complacency and Lapses on Security

Macky Fortu of the Knights of Rizal-HFT also said, “ I am disappointed with the lapses on DHS security screening. They were too lax and never detected the terrorist couple.

But even at the hindsight, the FBI found a lot of explosives and ammunition in the house of the terrorist couple. That means they are really out to do something big.”

Veteran newsman Larry Pelayo on the other hand said, “ We sympathize with the families of the victims of the massacre.

This should be a lesson to America when it allows Syrian refugees to come in to the United States.”

JFAV STATEMENT ON THE 74th PEARL HARBOR DAY, DECEMBER 7, 1941, CONTINUE THE FIGHT FOR JUSTICE AND EQUITY!

JFAV Lobby in the US Congress,2013

Los Angeles“ A day that will live in infamy.”

That is how US President Frnaklin D. Roosvelt described the Japanese air strike on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on December 07, 1941. In several hours the whole US Asiatic fleet and air force were destroyed on the harbor and on the ground.

The incident cause the United States entry into World War II on the side of the allies. Three hours after Roosevelt address on the US Congress, they declared war on Japan.

Few people especially the Americans, on the same day, the Japanese planes attack the Philippines. They destroyed the American ships anchored on Sangley Base and the planes at Clark Air Base and bombed almost all the cities in the Philippines.

Japan Invades the Philippines. The die-In at the 15th JFAV Annual veterans Day Protest March:Rally in Hollywood, November 11, 2015

Two days later they invaded the Philippines, landing in Aparri, Cagayan, Laoag, ilocos Norte and Agoo, La Union after failing to land in Lingayen, Pangasinan.

But today, Pearl Harbor is not even remembered, Today, the United States and Japan are close allies against China. The bad thing, the Philippines is siding with Japan and the US in containing Chinese aggression in the South China Seas and the contested islands, atolls and rocks of Sensuku and Spratleys.

Yes, for the justice for Filipino American Veterans (JFAV) and the Filipino Americans in the United States, the day that will live in infamy is not Pearl Harbor but February 18, 1946 when the 79th US Congress disenfranchised the 250,000 Filipino-American veterans who fought for America during World War II.

Remember Pearl Harbor, Fight for Justice and Equity

For JFAV ,It is more than the sneak attack on Pearl harbor for less than 3,000 Americans died on Pearl harbor in 1941. But to strip the 250,000 FilAm Veterans of their rights, privileges and benefits, it is more than a stab in a back but a kick in their faces including their survivors.

For 69 years now the remaining 28,000 Veterans and their 70,000 survivors are still unrecognized as American veterans. We remember Pearl Harbor for it was the start of a war that the Philippines never wanted but suffered for more than four years.

We remembered Pearl Harbor for it is an important date for our nation’s struggle for freedom and democracy. More than one million FIlipinos died in the war. That includes 17,000 American soldiers who died for the liberation of the Philippines from 1944-1945.

The whole Philippines was destroyed including Manila. And yet this is how American repay us? To not recognize the wartime services of our veterans for monetary considerations?

It prod us more and inspire us  to fight for equity and justice for our Filipino World War II veterans.

END.

KmB Solidarity Statement

JFAV Updates

People’s CORE’s KmB Solidarity Statement

Warm greetings to the Kabataang maka-Bayan (KmB) in your 16th Founding Anniversary!

It is very apt that KmB was established on the day that the Great Plebian, Gat Andres Bonifacio was born. Andres Bonifacio, the founder of Katipunan is the hero of the working people who asserted our independence from Spain through armed struggle.

Being the initiator in the formation of KmB, People’s CORE is pleased with the development of your organization amidst political intrigues being peddled by other “left” and politically skewed formations.

1533784_10203179040373867_250558834_n

KmB true to its political principle is unwavering in the pursuit of genuine freedom and democracy of the Filipino people while it struggle for justice and democratic rights of the peoples in the US. KmB persist in reaching out, educating and mobilizing the different sectors and continue to build united front and stronger alliances for the interest of the many. Be it campaign for broader democratic rights in universities, immigrant rights, social justice, veterans rights and other sectoral interests, KmB is always in the forefront of the struggle.

KmB should continue expanding its membership, putting up or strengthening its chapters in different cities. While there may be some realignment of your programs and priorities, you should not veer away from the original tenets of KmB’s formation. You should always consider the dialectical relationship of the struggle and interest of the Filipino back home with your struggle in the belly of the beast.

KmB should be relentless in your continuous ideological, political and organizational studies. But most of all, the members should integrate theory and practice. For how good is the theory if it is not done in practice?

People’s CORE joins you in your 16th founding celebration and solidarity night and I wish you all a productive evening!

Your comrade in struggle,

Joe Navidad
Executive Director
People’s CORE
