JFAV: AQUINO III REGIME IS TO BLAME FOR THE MISEDUCATION OF FILIPINOS.

Los Angeles— “ Education is the mirror of the people’s situation”-Dr.Jose Rizal

President Benigno Aquino II again feigned   surprise on the apparent miseducation of Filipinos on the matter that some student does not know that a Filipino hero,  Apolinario Mabini was a paralytic.

This comes to the question of some students who watched “Heneral Luna” who asked the actor why he was sitting for the rest of the movie.

Actor Eppie Quizon, who play the part of Apolinario Mabini, expressed disgust on the question and the fact the students did not know who Apolinario Mabini was and that he was a paralytic stricken by polio.

Passing the Buck

The Justice for Filipino American Veterans (JFAV), an alliance of veterans, widows, advocates, students and youth organizations  asks: who is to blame for the real sad state of the system of education in the Philippines?

JFAV National Coordinator Arturo P. Garcia said, “It is the same situation when President Aquino II played naïve when asked about the situation of Filipino World War II Veterans who were unrecognized by the US Government when he was interviewed during his visit in the U.S in San Francisco in 2012.

The Philippine government failed to fight for its veterans and the worst kept the fact secret to the Filipino people for more than 50 years and presented the non-recognition of Filipino veterans as a simple case of “unpaid backpays during the wartime.”

Commercialized Colonial and Feudal Education

Garcia, said, “ It is the Aquino III Regime and its education department and their lack of focus on patriotism and love country who is to blame.

President Aquino III to show he was acting on the matter called the attention of the Department of Education and Culture (DECS) on their system of instruction.

Instead they are fostering the dependence on semi-colonial and semi colonial system of education that produced misinformed and colonial minded citizenry.”

lll Prepared K to 12 System

JFAV’s Garci also stated,” It was Aquino III himself who rushed the education system to a new K12 Program patterned after the western system without proper preparation and in haste. The result is the disorientation and dislocation of the school system.”

Garcia pointed out, “ This also results to the lack of schools, lay-off of teachers, bad preparation of infrastructures like school buildings, needed services and needed personnel.

Even the necessary text books, laboratories and other systems are essentially missing. And there is also the drive to use English as the medium of instruction and relegate or remove the teaching of our national language in higher education.

This is not only unpatriotic but outright colonial minded and subservient to their imperialist masters and crass commercialization of education.

If here is to blame to the miseducation of Filipinos is the government itself and most of all President Aquino III. As always, the buck stays on the highest authorities of the land.” Garcia ended.
